Kojo Bamba, the aspiring candidate for the National First Vice Chairman of the NPP, has appealed to the supporters and stakeholders in Akwatia to ensure a peaceful by-election as the constituency prepares to vote.

Speaking to some of the residents of Akwatia Constituency on Sunday, August 31,2025, he stressed the importance of unity and calm, noting that democracy thrives only in an atmosphere of peace.

While urging voters to turn out in their numbers, Bamba reaffirmed his support for the NPP candidate, expressing confidence in a decisive victory.

He reminded constituents that “every vote counts” and encouraged them to safeguard the credibility of the process by rejecting violence and intimidation.

He said authorities should allow only the police to handle any security issue relating to the conduct of the election.

He said the by-election was coming on due to the unfortunate demise of the late MP, Ernest Yaw Kumi, and that his memory should be honoured with a peaceful by-election.

He stated that the event was only to choose a successor for the late MP through the ballot box, which did not require people to indulge in mayhem during the by-election.
