CEO of the Ghana’s Shippers Authority, Professor Ransford Gyampo has called on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to come up with a new crop of leaders.
To him, the only way the NPP can qualify to govern Ghana again is when they repent and change their leadership.
He accused the NPP of being arrogant and incompetent when they were in government, especially in the handling of the illegal small-scale mining (Galamsey) and power cuts.
Speaking on the Key Points on TV3 Saturday, May 31, Prof Gyampo said “the intervention to keep Ghana switched on is ongoing.”
To the NPP, he said, “If they don’t repent or come up with a new crop of leaders, they don’t fit to govern even a village.”
The NPP lost the December 7, 2024 elections at both the presidential and parliamentary levels.
Upon assumption of office, the National Democratic Congress government led by John Mahama has been able to put in measures to get the cedi appreciate in value against major foreign currencies.
They have also initiated policies to curb galamsey.
