Leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has issued a directive to members of the party to cease discussing matters concerning the party’s internal issues on the airwaves.
The party says despite recognising the pain of party members from its defeat in the recently held elections, they should be circumspect with their utterances in expressing their frustrations since it could lead to disaffection.
The statement comes on the back of the party’s defeat in the December 2024 elections which has led to many in the NPP expressing their frustrations and what they think led to the defeat of the party.
In a statement signed by the General Secretary of the party, Justin Kodua Frimpong, Thursday, March 20, 2025, he underscored the need for members to instill calm in the party to ensure unity, citing the party’s Constitution under Article 10(7)(5), which mandates coordination of their activities.
The statement also reminded members of Article 3(5) of the NPP Constitution, which enjoins all party faithful to promote and defend the good name of the party.
“Let us uphold the values of the NPP and work together to rebuild a stronger party for the future,” the statement read.
The leadership at the national, regional and constituency levels have been tasked to take members who flout the directive to the appropriate disciplinary committees for action to be taken to ensure the directive is enforced.
The NPP leadership has called on all members to remain focused on the party’s core values and work collaboratively to restore its standing.
