The Ghana Health Service has confirmed four more new cases of Mpox bringing the number of cases to nine (9).

Although the numbers of confirmed cases of the disease keep rising, health authorities say there is no cause for alarm.

The four new confirmed cases, we gathered are not related. 3news sources say two were confirmed from the Western Region and the other two from the Greater Accra Region.

Earlier, there were three cases recorded in the Accra metro with two more recoded in the Western Region.

3news sources can also confirm that contact tracing is still ongoing while those traced are currently being monitored.

Surveillance remains heightened at the Regional Health Directorates as the Ghana Health Service re-activates response protocols, including contact tracing, to prevent further transmission.

Mpox, formerly known as Monkeypox, is a viral disease characterized by, Rash, fever, headache, muscle aches, back pain, low energy, and swollen lymph nodes.

Close contact with infected individuals, animals, or contaminated materials are the primary mode of transmission.
