Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin is known for his advocacy on environmental issues, education, decentralization and HIV/AIDS. Highlight of his reign and legacy was chronicled by the anniversary committee chairman Okyeman Twafohene, Okatakyie Boakye Danquah.

“Osagyefo took over at the time when Okyeman and the Eastern Region was confronted with many developmental changes. Osagyefo stepped in to address the HIV menace, school dropout and teenage pregnancy as a first step. Today, the impressive strides we have made in terms of rapid reduction and decrease in reported cases is a tribute to his exemplary leadership and advocacy. The establishment of the University College of Agriculture, Environment and Science is the cumulative result of the personal fidelity,” he touted.
“Osagyefo has initiated fruitful deliberations with the then Prince Charles, now King Charles on rainforest project and other renowned conservationist institutions across the world about measures to stem climate change and global warming. The Okyenhene is a world acclaimed conservationist,” he added
As a former President of the Eastern Regional House of chiefs, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin’s arbitration skills have fostered peace in his traditional council and the region at large, amidst chieftaincy disputes.
