The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has arrested three former high-ranking officials of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) in connection with the ongoing investigation into the Strategic Mobilisation Limited (SML) contract with the GRA.
The three persons include the immediate past Commissioner-General, Rev. Dr. Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah, Dr. Isaac Crentsil and Christian Tetteh Sottie, both former top officials of the GRA.
The Authority by the OSP, it indicated that the arrests were linked to ongoing investigations into suspected corruption and corruption-related offences in respect of contracts between the GRA and SML for revenue assurance services.
The probe also seeks to verify SML’s claims that its services have been saving the nation significant revenues.
Their arrest comes amid growing scrutiny over the controversial SML deal, which has raised questions about possible financial misconduct and irregularities in contract execution.
