The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested a suspect in connection with an alleged arson attack at the premises of Grace Town Power Ministry Headquarters (Alpha Hour) in Accra.

According to a press release issued by the Regional Public Affairs Unit of the Ghana Police Service on February 11, 2026, the incident occurred within the Mile 7 District of the Tesano Division.

Police identified the suspect as Kesse Okyerewaa Koranteng. Preliminary investigations indicate that on Monday, February 9, 2026, the suspect allegedly unlawfully entered the church premises, poured a liquid substance believed to be petrol inside the auditorium, and set it ablaze using matches.

Investigators revealed that the suspect carried the liquid in rubber containers, sprinkled it within the auditorium, and ignited it, leading to the outbreak of fire.

The blaze reportedly destroyed several items, including air conditioners, chairs, windows, ten offering boxes, ceiling materials, electrical cables, and the lighting system.

Police officers who visited the scene retrieved four rubber containers suspected to have been used in committing the offence.

The suspect has since been cautioned and remains in police custody, assisting with ongoing investigations.

The Accra Regional Police Command has assured the public of its commitment to ensuring safety and security and has urged residents to promptly report any suspicious activities to the Police.
