Pressure from fans of Africa’s top clubs like Hearts of Oak is expected as a coach, Aboubakar Ouattara has indicated.
A coach, therefore, needs to have strength for such pressure, he further noted.
He said among the clubs whose supporters come with such pressure are Al Ahly and Zamalek, both of Egypt, TP Mazembe of DR Congo, Wydad Casablanca of Morocco, Asante Kotoko of Ghana, Simba FC of Tanzania, AS Vita Club of Angola, and Orlando Pirates of South Africa.
“Pressure from fans can make you weak,” he said in an exclusive interview on Agoro Fie on Onua TV on Friday, May 9.
“That pressure coming from fans is a big motivation to do well,” he philosophised.
The Ivorian coach is in his second season and has come under pressure in the job.
Last year, fans piled pressure for him to resign after the club had a brush with relegation.
Earlier this season, there was same pressure for his head as the club had a bad start to the 2024/25 League.
The club is currently sixth and Ouattara hopes to finish in the Top Four.
