Johnson Asiedu Nketia, National Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), has warned persons involved in the capture of state lands to be ready to face justice as the day of accountability draws near.

He says the government is conducting ongoing investigations into alleged wrongdoing gradually, with probes into state asset grabbing set to commence soon.

His comments follow a series of exposés by Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, who is also the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, from when the NDC was in opposition.

Speaking on Onua TV’s Maakye with Captain on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, Asiedu Nketia warned that those culpable in state capture will face accountability.

He warned that culprits won’t escape accountability due to their party affiliation. According to him, individuals from both the NPP and NDC will be held accountable if they are found to be involved in the land capture, as well as any other abuse of power.

“We’ll address the land exposés Okudzeto made, and if you’re an NDC member and complicit, be ready to face the law. The law must take its course. Whether an accused is a relative or not, they must be dealt with, because everyone has connections in Ghana. If we let people off due to relationships, the nation will collapse. We can’t let someone off just because they’re from our hometown.”
