With two days to the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) super delegates conference, aspirants Francis Adai-Nimoh, Kwadwo Poku and Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku are out of the contest, Prof. Smart Sarpong of the Kumasi Technical University (KTU) has predicted.

The Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Social Science Research at the KTU says the 10 persons aspiring for the flagbearership slot have been categorized into three.

He says the first group are those who do not need any scientific research to be told they will make the top five comprising Kennedy Agyapong, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen.

Francis Adai-Nimoh, Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku and Kwadwo Nsafoah Poku according to Prof. Sarpong make up the second group who outrightly are out of the contest, with Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, Joe Ghartey, Kwabena Agyei Agyapong and Boakye Agyarko comprising the third group.

He has been explaining that, any two persons from the third group could join the standing three to make the five final candidates for the November 4 showdown.

Meanwhile, pollster Ben Ephson says Joe Ghartey, Francis Adai-Nimoh and Boakye Agyarko stand tall among the remaining seven, and a dint of hard work from any two of them will take them to the promised land.

Prof. Sarpong was speaking on Onua FM/TV’s afternoon political talkshow, ‘Pae Mu Ka’ Thursday, August 24, 2023, with Yaa Titi Okrah.
