Prophet John Anokye, founder and leader of Worldwide Word Ministries, also known as The Hill City Church, has been honoured at the maiden edition of the Sacred Crown Awards 2026 for his contribution to prophetic ministry, spiritual leadership and mentorship.

The respected man of God received the Prophetic Mentorship and Impact Award at the ceremony held on Saturday, October 31, at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra.

The awards initiative, under the auspices of the Ga Mantse, His Royal Majesty King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, celebrates individuals and institutions making meaningful contributions to African heritage, spirituality, traditional leadership, healthcare, culture and community development.

Prophet John Anokye

Prophet Anokye’s recognition highlights his years of service in Christian ministry and his work in equipping believers, developing emerging ministers and promoting spiritual growth.

His journey in ministry dates back more than a decade. Speaking at the launch of his church’s 10th anniversary celebrations in February 2026, he disclosed that he received what he described as a divine instruction concerning his ministry in 2008, before formally establishing it.

What began as a ministry with just 21 members has grown into Worldwide Word Ministries – The Hill City Church, with a wider vision of reaching people through the preaching and teaching of the Word of God.

Beyond its regular church services, the ministry has established several programmes aimed at addressing different aspects of Christian life and personal development.

These include the Healing in Health Conference, which has been running since 2015, the Prophetic Business Conference, the Finance Summit and the Prophetic Mentorship School.

Through these initiatives, Prophet Anokye has sought to combine spiritual development with practical lessons in leadership, business, financial management and mentorship.

A significant part of the ministry’s impact is reflected in its humanitarian interventions through I CARE Missions, the social outreach arm of Worldwide Word Ministries, which has been operating since the inception of the ministry.

Through I CARE Missions, the church has supported orphans, provided scholarships to students, including beneficiaries outside the congregation, paid hospital bills, supported widows and extended assistance to the needy and vulnerable in society. The initiative also supports orphanages and hospitals as part of its broader commitment to improving lives and providing relief to individuals and families facing difficult circumstances.

The initiative underscores the ministry’s commitment to extending its impact beyond the pulpit by combining spiritual leadership with practical acts of compassion, generosity and community service.

Prophet Anokye’s ministry has equally maintained a presence on television, connecting with viewers through Media General’s TV3 every Sunday morning at 7 a.m., where he shares messages centred on faith, biblical teachings and spiritual growth.

The television platform has provided another avenue for the ministry to reach audiences beyond its church congregation, offering viewers an opportunity to engage with his teachings and ministry.

The Sacred Crown recognition adds to the public acknowledgement of Prophet Anokye’s work in prophetic ministry, mentorship and humanitarian service.

For Worldwide Word Ministries and its congregation, the honour represents an important milestone in a journey that continues to focus on spiritual development, raising believers and making a meaningful difference in people’s lives through service and community outreach.

The Sacred Crown Awards brought together traditional authorities, religious leaders, policymakers, cultural figures and other personalities to celebrate contributions to Ghanaian and African society.
