The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has assured customers that it is working tirelessly to restore power after a severe rainstorm caused widespread outages in parts of Kumasi on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.

In a statement released on March 26, 2025, ECG attributed the disruptions to damages sustained by its power distribution network due to the storm. Strong winds and heavy rains resulted in electrical faults, leading to service interruptions across affected areas.

“The Electricity Company of Ghana wishes to inform our cherished customers that the heavy rainstorm that hit parts of Kumasi and its environs this morning (26th March, 2025) has caused some outages within our network,” the statement read.

ECG has swiftly deployed a team of engineers to assess the damage and implement necessary repairs. The company has assured residents that efforts are underway to restore electricity as quickly as possible.

Engineers are identifying affected areas and prioritizing repairs. Repairs are being conducted to bring power back efficiently and safely.

ECG has appealed to the customers to report any additional outages for quicker resolutions.
