Black Stars winger Osman Bukari has penned a poignant message to Red Star Belgrade as he announces his departure from the Serbian giants.

Reports emerged on Thursday that the Ghanaian attacker has agreed a deal with Major League Soccer (MLS) side Austin FC.

He is set to undergo medicals to complete a move from Europe to the Americas.

In his message to fans, coaches and players of Red Star Belgrade, Bukari indicated that his heart was “heavy with mixed emotions”.

“After much thought, I’ve decided that it’s time for me to move on to the next chapter of my career,” he wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

“Leaving this team is one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make.”

He, therefore, expressed gratitude to his teammates, family, coaches, staff and fans.

“We’ve shared victories & defeats, laughter & tears. Your support and friendship have meant the world to me.

“To the coaches and staff, thank you for believing in me, pushing me to be my best, and guiding me through every challenge.

“To the fans, your unwavering support has been incredible. Playing in front of you has been an honor, and your cheers have always lifted my spirits, even in the toughest moments.

“This team will always hold a special place in my heart. I wish you all continued success and will be cheering for you from afar.”

Bukari has joined his national teammates in camp for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Mali, on Thursday, June 6, and Central African Republic, on Monday, June 10.
