The commercial transport operators have issued an ultimatum to non-compliant drivers over the 15% reduction of transport fares to comply or face sanctions.
According to a joint statement issued by the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) and the Commercial Transport Operators, it informed the public that all commercial drivers are expected to comply with the directive and should ensure they are not shortchanged as they engage their services.
The Unions have charged the public to report to their offices, any driver that fails to adhere to the new fares.
In an interview with OnuaOnline, the National PRO of the GPRTU, Abass Imoro Ibrahim, indicated that: “We did not add a date to the ultimatum, but I am hopeful that by the close of today [Monday, May 26, 2025], something will come out and they will all comply.

We urge all drivers to adhere to the fare reduction to avoid sanctions. The public is encouraged to report any non-compliance to our office or the police.
