The paramount chief of the Ada Traditional Area and President of the Ada Traditional Council, Jetse Abram Kabu Akuaku III, has urged politicians to remain civil in the upcoming elections.
The chief has told the various political parties to ensure their campaigns are devoid of messages that will disrupt the peace of the nation.
During his welcome address at the grand durbar of the Ada Asafotufiami –the firing of musket festival 2024 –at the Presbyterian School park at Bana Saturday, August 03, 2024, he asked that politicians prioritise the peace of the nation in all their activities.
“I’ll like to take this opportunity to urge all political parties to remain civil in their campaigns and desist from acts that can cause insecurity before, during and after the elections,” a statement read on his behalf indicated.
He further admonished all to contribute their quota towards the peace of the nation, saying it is a call to national duty.
“I, therefore admonish all to see the upcoming elections as a call to national duty and contribute their quota to the democratic dispensation we are currently enjoying as a nation.
“Let us respect each other. For without peace, there will be no nation for any of us called Ghana,” he added.
Ghana visits the polls on Saturday, December 07, 2024 to elect parliamentarians and a new President as the term of office of both the President and the 8th Parliament ends in December 2024.
