Dr Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, the Director of Elections for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has admonished Electoral Commission (EC) officials to adhere to the rules governing the 2024 polls.

He has cautioned that officials who will fall foul to the regulations will be duly sanctioned by the law.

The former Minister of Communications in a post on his Facebook Monday, December 09, 2024, asked Returning Officers not to make any attempt to vary the results of the polls as prosecution await such persons.

Omane Boamah further urged members of the NDC not to go to sleep but keep being vigilant on the results since the party is ready to safeguard the integrity of the electoral process.

He reiterated that the NDC is closely monitoring activities at collation centres to ensure strict compliance with electoral laws.

“Returning officers must uphold the principles of fairness and transparency. Any deviation from these standards will not be tolerated, and those responsible will be held accountable under the law,” Dr Boamah stated.

He further called on the Electoral Commission (EC) to strengthen its oversight mechanisms to prevent irregularities and ensure that election results reflect the will of the people.

Dr Boamah concluded by urging all stakeholders to work together to maintain peace and integrity throughout the electoral process.
