The Minister of Roads and Highways, Kwasi Amoako-Attah, has given the strongest assurance that everything possible will be done to protect the Sogakope Bridge from the spillage of the water from the Akosombo Dam.

The Minister after assessing the situation at the bridge said that even though there was no cause for alarm, all precautionary measures must be taken to prevent the water from hitting the surface of the bottom of the bridge.

He said a seed money of GHC5 million has been earmarked to rehabilitate the roads likely affected by the spillage.

Mr. Amoako-Attah gave the assurance after leading a team of engineers from the Ministry of Roads and Highways and its agencies to inspect the bridge at Sogakope in the Volta region.
