The Director-General of the National Service Authority (NSA), Felix Gyamfi, has issued a strong warning to individuals attempting to influence service postings through illegal payments.

This follows the investigative piece by the Fourth Estate alleging the existence of ghost names in National Service postings.

In an interview with 3FM’s Helen Appiah-Ampofo, Mr. Gyamfi emphasized his commitment to crack down on “special postings,” a term used to describe postings influenced by illegal payments.

“National Service re-posting is just a fraud. There will be no extra postings to companies after they have officially communicated to us the number of service personnel they want. So, security measures are in place to ensure that if anyone goes into the system to change even a letter, we will know,” he assured.

The Director-General urged parents and prospective Service Personnel to accept their place of postings.

“National Service is not a punishment; it should be something you should enjoy doing. I did not have any malicious intent to post people to a place where they would struggle,” he said.

Mr Felix Gyamfi added that a full-scale investigation is currently ongoing to unravel persons who are involved in the NSS ghost name scandals.

“The Attorney-General has taken up the matter, we are awaiting his investigation. If I have to take any action after the investigations, I will do so without hesitation,” Mr. Gyamfi promised.
