The District Chief Executive for Shai Osudoku, Ignatius Godfred Dordoe, has presented newly procured pick-up vehicles to the District Assembly in a move to strengthen field operations and improve service delivery.
At a brief handover ceremony held at the Assembly’s forecourt on Monday, April 27, 2026, Mr Dordoe officially handed over the vehicles to the District Coordinating Director for onward transfer to the transport department. The event was attended by heads of department and staff of the Assembly.
Addressing the gathering, Mr Dordoe disclosed that the pick-ups have not yet been assigned to specific departments because insurance processes are still underway.
He assured that once the insurance is completed, the vehicles will be released to support critical activities including revenue mobilization, sanitation monitoring, project inspection, and emergency response.
“I procured these pick-ups to improve our work on the ground. They are currently being insured, and immediately after that process, we will hand them over to the departments that need them,” the DCE stated.
He cautioned that the vehicles are strictly for official duties and warned against their use for private errands. Mr Dordoe urged heads of departments to ensure proper maintenance and strict compliance with the Assembly’s transport policy once deployment begins.
Receiving the vehicles on behalf of the Assembly, the District Coordinating Director expressed appreciation to the DCE and noted that the pick-ups will help address existing mobility challenges once they are assigned.
The DCE reaffirmed his commitment to resourcing the Assembly to improve efficiency and bring governance closer to the people.
Full deployment of the vehicles is expected after the completion of insurance processes.
