Lawyers of former CEO of the Ghana Infrastructure Investment Fund Solomon Asamoah and Ex-Board Chair Prof Christopher Ameyaw Ekumfi have asked for bail conditions of the accused persons to be varied.

Solomon Asamoah and Prof Ekumfi have been charged with multiple counts of offenses including willfully causing financial loss to the state and intentional dissipation of public funds in connection with the $2m Accra Sky Train project which did not materialise.

They have both pleaded not guilty and are on a GHC15 million and GHc10 million bail with two sureties to be justified respectively.

The former GIIF CEO has been asked to report to the Police investigators three times a week while Prof Ameyaw Ekumfi is to report once a week.

In court on Tuesday, June 10, lawyers for the accused persons prayed for more time to peruse the disclosures and witness statements which the Attorney-General had served on them.

Additionally, the lawyers made an oral prayer asking the court to vary the number of times their clients are to report to the investigators.

Presiding judge Comfort Tasiame then ordered them to file the application and adjourned the proceedings to June 16 for case management conference.
