Ghana’s fastest man Benjamin Azamati-Kwaku has booked his place at the 2025 World Athletics Championships after clocking 9.98s at the McNab Sprint Series in the US.
The time at the USATF event is the Ghanaian’s Season Best (SB).
The US-based athlete withdrew from the 4x100m men’s relay team that recently qualified for the Tokyo championships.
His qualification for the Championships, scheduled to be held in September, moves Ghana’s disciplines to two – 4x100m men and 100m individual.
The former graduate of the University of Ghana holds the national record (NR) in 100m.
He participated in the 2022 World Athletics Championships held in Eugene, Oregon, placing 4th in Heat 6 behind America’s Christian Coleman, Canada’s Andre de Grasse and Brazil’s Erik Cardoso.
