On Tuesday, 3rd June 2025, the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) at Buipe swiftly resp onded to a fuel tanker accident on the Buipe-Kumasi highway near the China Construction Yard.
A petrol tanker carrying 45,000 litres overturned after colliding with a stationary cement truck.
Arriving within minutes, the team safely contained the fuel using cooling and foam methods and cleared debris to restore traffic flow.
Their quick action prevented a potential fire disaster.
