Two-time winner of the Artiste of the Year award, Stonebwoy has extended congratulations to King Promise for his debut win of the prestigious award at the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs).

Stonebwoy was amongst the key contenders for the award which also had Black Sherif, King Paluta, Kweku Smoke, Joe Mettle and Team Eternity Ghana nominated.

In a tweet on May 12, Stonebwoy welcomed King Promise to the growing list of winners of the Artiste of the Year.

“Congratulations @IamKingPromise on your win and on your debut entry into the league of AOTY winners. You’re Welcome,” he posted.

King Promise won four awards at the 26th TGMAs including the coveted Artiste of the Year award. He also took home the Album/EP of the year, Best Afropop song of the year and Best Afrobeats artiste of the year.

In 2025, King Promise came close to winning the AOTY award but lost to Stonebwoy. He managed to secure 10 nominations fir the 26th TGMA and won his first AOTY award.

The ‘Ekelebe’ hitmaker won the Artiste of the Year award at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) in 2024, marking his second win in this prestigious category after his first in 2015.
This victory at the 25th TGMA, held on June 1, 2024, at the Accra International Conference Centre, saw him triumph over strong contenders like Black Sherif, King Promise, Kuami Eugene, Nacee, and Sarkodie.
Stonebwoy also secured six awards in total that night, including Best Reggae/Dancehall Artiste, Songwriter of the Year, International Collaboration, Album/EP of the Year for 5th Dimension, and Record of the Year.
His dominance was attributed to his impactful releases, international performances, and the success of his 5th Dimension album, which featured collaborations like “Manodzi” with Angelique Kidjo.Â
