In a heartfelt gesture of appreciation, Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II on June 8 extended his profound gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for his visionary commitment to the development and progress of the people of Sunyani.
Commending the President for his transformative drive, the Paramount Chief of Sunyani did not mince words as he joyously eulogized the President for recognizing the need to include Sunyani in his transformative initiatives.
Nana shared this during an event organized by him, dubbed ‘Ogyeamansan Party in the Park’ which saw over four thousand people thronging the Sunyani Children’s Park to share moments together, fraternize and have fun.
The two days event had the theme, “Uniting in fun to reflect on our children’s happiness.” It was organized for children and adults and the total attendance was over seven thousand people.
The over 25 years neglected Children’s Park which was full of garbage, rodents, snakes and so on became a den for criminals. But due to the transformative leadership of the Chief, the Sunyani Children’s Park has come alive.
Odeefour Ogyeamasan Boahen Korkor II shared his vision of transforming the over 24 acres land to a tourist attraction since Sunyani lacks any. He stated his intention of making the children’s park an ultramodern one, developing a mini zoo, constructing a canopy – walkway and amongst other historically important facilities to serve tourists.
“Nananom, Ladies and gentlemen, I want to take advantage of this exciting event to say a big thank you to H.E John Dramani Mahama for recognizing Sunyani in his numerous developmental agenda.
” I on behalf of the Sunyani Traditional Council recognize and appreciate the President for formalizing the Sunyani Teaching Hospital which he did mention at the Sunyani Jubilee Park during his “Thank You Tour” of the Bono Region,” the chief said.
“I also appreciate the President for deciding to fix the Sunyani-Techiman Road, Sunyani-Wenchi Road and other major roads in the Bono Region.
Again, we the people of Sunyani are grateful to H.E John Dramani Mahama for capturing the Ring Road in his road infrastructural developmental agenda and also deciding to give Sunyani a befitting modern market.
The intention of H.E John Dramani to transform the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) and establishment of Medical School in the school is greatly welcomed by Nananom,” he stated.
The Sunyanimanhene’s show of appreciation confirms the smile that beamed on his face as the President shared his developmental vision for the people of Sunyani at the Sunyani Jubilee Park where he sat with his sub-chiefs.
