A young man in his early 30s, suspected to be a thief has been lynched by an angry mob at Esaso in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti Region.
The disaster occurred on Friday, November 7, 2025, and the deceased’s body was found in a gutter.
Reports say, two tricycles belonging to the suspect were also burnt during the incident.
According to our source, the suspect and four others had attempted to steal building materials from a construction site, but were caught by some residents in the area.
Four of the suspects managed to escape, but the one who was caught was subjected to mob violence and later found dead.
Residents of the area are not happy about the increasing cases of armed robbery and theft in the community, and believed the lynching was a response to these incidents.
“The youth are already agitated over the recent armed robbery cases in the area, and so I’m sure they must have done this to send a strong warning to the thieves,” our source stated.
