Swedru All Blacks have gained promotion to the Ghana Premier League after winning Zone 2 of the 2024/25 Division One League with a game to go.
The Black Magicians beat New Edubiase United in their penultimate game on Sunday, May 25 to chalk this historic feat.
All Blacks have been in the lower division for the past 16 years, struggling to make a headway.
At the start of the 2024/25 season, the club lost its coach, Felix Kobbleh Nodziko Tamakloe.
But the Ozii Ozaa Boys fought on with coach Prince George Kwofie to book qualification to the top division.
“I have a background in Psychology as well as Sociology and so I work more on the psycho-social aspect of the game in addition to the physical, technical and the tactical aspects of the game, ” the current coach said.
“I am sure that is the secret that has helped us to this point.,” he told Onua Sports at the Swedru Sports Stadium after sealing qualification.
Behind the goals for the Central Region giants is Rudolf Mensah Jr.
He said he set a target of scoring 30+ goals in this year’s campaign.
He has so far scored 23 goals and resolved to score more as the club makes a return to the Ghana Premier League.
All Blacks’ final game in Zone 2 will be against away to PAC Academy, who recently lost midfielder Bernard Sarpong.
