The President-elect, John Dramani Mahama, is calling on all Ghanaians to come on deck to help build the Ghana that every citizen will be proud of.
According to him, irrespective of the political party one belongs to, it is incumbent upon everyone to come along to help build the nation to regain its former status as “the black star of Africa.”
Speaking at the Sanctuary of Wind and Fire Assemblies of God Church in Tamale, the Northern regional capital, after a cross over service Wednesday, January 01, 2025, John Mahama said the campaign and election period was the easiest part of the job, and building the Ghana everyone deserves is the most difficult part of the task.
He charged the gathering to intensify every effort they contributed in campaigning and winning the polls to execute the real work of delivering to the people.
The former President called on people from all the political parties, including the neutrals, to all contribute in making Ghana great again.
“It will take everybody to come on board, even those who don’t belong to any political party, especially. It will take all of us to come on board to change this country into what we want it to be. The easy part is over. The easy part was the campaign and the elections.
“Now the difficult part begins. Now the real work begins and so if we prayed and fasted to have a successful election, now is the time to pray and fast even more, that God will raise our nation, and like my little daughter said ‘making the black star of Africa once again'” he charged.
John Mahama was declared winner of the December 2024 election by the Electoral Commission having securing 55.6% of the total valid votes cast with 9 constituencies to spare.
His inauguration will be taking place at the Black Star Square in Accra on Tuesday, January 07, 2024.
