The Gbewaa Palace has condemned a publication going viral in the media suggesting the Ya-Na has castigated Assin Central lawmaker, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, during his visit to the Palace.

According to a statement issued by the Gbewaa Palace Monday, October 23, 2023, no such thing as indicated in the false media reportages happened during the MP’s visit considering how the Hon. MP esteems the Palace and the royal dynasty being apolitical.

“The Gbewaa Palace therefore condemns this wicked and despicable lies and political
propaganda and caution all and sundry to desist from patent distortion of statements and remarks by His Majesty the Ya-Na especially during visits by politicians,” the statement indicated.

The statement went on to describe the publication as “palpable falsehood and a figment of the author’s imagination.”

On the contrary, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central who is seeking to become flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) “was accorded high respect and dignity befitting a contender for the high office of president of Ghana during his visit at the Palace.”

The Gbewaa Palace has said the Ya-Na appreciates and could not have made such “derogatory remarks” to a personality like Mr. Agyapong who is seeking to occupy the highest office of the land.

“His Majesty certainly did not use such words or language on Honorable Agyapong, a person with enormous respect for the Palace,” parts of the statement said.
