The Bono East Regional Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the murder of the Queen mother of Abamba near Amantin in the Atebubu area of the Bono East Region.
Police in a statement on March 10, 2026 said the suspects, Rafiu Haruna, Muftawu Adamu, and Michael Owusu Spermi, were arrested through an intelligence led operation.
On February 25, 2026, Nana Serwaa Asaamaa Kuma Gyan, the Queen mother of Abamba near Amantin, was shot to death at her residence at the Methodist Church area in Atebubu.
Residents reported that they heard gunshots in the area only to rush to the scene to find the Queen lying in a pool of blood just at her residence.
The three suspects are currently in Police custody assisting investigations, while efforts continue to bring all perpetrators involved in the crime to justice.
