Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has assured Ghanaians of protecting the public purse, and has urged that they entrust him with their sovereignty on December 07, 2024, to do that on their behalf.

The flag bearer of the NPP, who was speaking to the youth of Ghana during his “Bawumia for Jobs” encounter Sunday, November 03, 2024, promised the youth that they should give him the mandate to secure the public coffers to provide them with the jobs they need.

Unlike his opponent, John Dramani Mahama of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), the flag bearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) says he has what it takes to transform their lives and not leave them jobless.

He slammed John Mahama for presiding over the infamous ‘Unemployed Graduates Association’ due to lack of jobs in 2016, despite it being few years into Ghana’s discovery of crude in larger quantities.

Speaking to the youth, Dr. Bawumia admonished them to dispel the ‘all politicians are the same’ assertion and view him as a different person who wants the opportunity to also showcase what he has got to be President.

“You can trust me to protect the public purse and use it selflessly to serve you. To the young voters of Ghana, i will say to you, do not switch off, get yourself involved. December is about you. December is about who can deliver for you, for your future, whom you trust, who has the integrity, the vision, the energy, the competence, the sense of where the world is today, and your place in it,” he urged.

He encouraged the youth to remember that their votes make a big difference and should not lose hope thinking that all politicians are the same.

“I know that some of you may not be too eager to vote. I do not blame you. If you have bought into the view that all politicians are the same, and that your vote won’t make any difference. That is not so. I can tell you that your vote makes a big difference. I will tell you why we are all not the same and cannot be the same.

“I am not John Mahama. He is a former President and a former Vice president. I am a Vice president who has never been president before who is asking you for the opportunity to lead and  show what I can do if offered this opportunity this December,” he stated.
