Running mate to independent presidential candidate George Twum-Barimah-Adu and a renowned development consultant, Nyaaba-Aweeba Azongo, has assured Ghanaians that their presidency will ensure a people-centered development strategy that brings common prosperity for all.

He stated in an interview with Captain Smart on Onua TV’s morning show, MaakyeTuesday, November 19, 2024, that if elected, the Twum-Barimah-Adu-Azongo government will ensure the nation’s first “Development Consensus” where all Ghanaians irrespective of ones political, religious or ethnic affiliation, would feel part of the governance by contributing ideas and effort.

The non-partisan leadership approach seeks to unify citizens and policymakers in shaping Ghana’s developmental future through shared responsibility and a cooperative vision.

“The Twum-Barimah-Adu-Azongo ticket aims to revolutionize governance by fostering a collaborative, community-led approach to national development to build prosperity for all,” he stated.

The proposed ‘Development Consensus’ approach seeks to remove political divisions from socioeconomic and developmental projects, allowing various stakeholder groups across the country to engage in policy discussions.

According to Azongo, Twum-Barimah-Adu-Azongo promises to replace E-Levy with E-Sika to provide welfare, housing and pension for every Ghanaian. With E-Levy the government deducts money from electronic transactions, keeps and uses the money at will but with E-Sika the money is credited to the individual’s account and distributed into three divisions, namely; welfare, housing and pension for the individual.

“E-Sika simply means, you save for your welfare, housing and pension when you spend. This is in line with our ‘Common Prosperity for All’ agenda” he iterated.

Ghana will on the 7th December, 2024 hold its general elections to elect a President and Members of Parliament to steer the affairs of the state for the next four years.

George Twum-Barimah-Adu insists that what Ghana needs now is a non-partisan president who will serve as the Head of State not as a Head of Political Party as has been the case over the past thirty two years under the NDC-NPP administrations.

Azongo expressed optimism that their pair will break the duopoly and establish a new governance order that plans with the people but for the people, while being guided by the Direction Principles of State Policies enshrined in the 1992 Constitution.
