A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alois K.K. Mohl, has formally declared his intention to contest the party’s parliamentary primary in the Nandom Constituency in the Upper West Region, promising to unite the party and lead its efforts to reclaim the seat in the 2028 elections.
Mohl says his decision is driven by concerns over what he describes as growing disunity within the Nandom NPP, arguing that unresolved internal disagreements contributed to the party’s defeat in the 2024 elections.
He is campaigning on the message of “Listen, Act and Deliver,” and says his leadership will prioritise reconciliation, grassroots mobilisation and the welfare of party members.
Mohl, who says he has been actively involved in Nandom politics for more than two decades, highlighted his past role in grassroots mobilisation and efforts that helped strengthen the NPP’s presence in the constituency.
He also rejected the growing perception that parliamentary contests are increasingly determined by financial strength, insisting that delegates should choose a candidate based on ideas, experience, loyalty and the ability to create opportunities.
If elected, Mr Mohl says his agenda for Nandom will focus on education, health, agriculture and social welfare, including improved infrastructure, agricultural mechanisation and targeted support for vulnerable residents.
He is also proposing a welfare scheme for NPP delegates, a rapid-response reconciliation team and support for executives facing health or educational challenges.
Mr Mohl has urged delegates to reward what he describes as his long service and loyalty to the party, saying the contest should not be about “who has more money,” but who can create more opportunities for the people of Nandom.

Alois K.K. Mohl is a candidate whose three decades of public service, professional expertise and political experience position him as a strong contender for the NPP parliamentary primaries in the Nandom Constituency.
A seasoned Public Administrator, Social Development and Training and Development expert, Mr Mohl has held several senior positions in Ghana’s public service, rising to the rank of Director before entering frontline politics.
He served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Social Investment Fund under former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, where his profile credits him with supporting the delivery of development projects in Nandom, including a six-unit classroom block at Dondometeng and an electrical workshop for Nandom Technical School.
His professional career has also taken him across Africa, Europe, America and Asia through consultancy and training engagements in child protection, social development and not-for-profit management.
Mohl holds an MBA in Human Resource Management, an MSc in Defence and International Politics, an LLB, a BA in Political Science with Sociology and a Certificate in Social Work.
Politically, he has served the NPP at constituency, regional and national levels, including roles on the National Council, National Executive Committee, national campaign teams and disciplinary committees.
His supporters say his extensive networks within the NPP, government and international organisations, coupled with his lobbying and negotiation experience, make him well positioned to attract development opportunities to Nandom.
Mr Mohl is currently seeking to leverage his public service record, professional experience and political networks to secure the NPP parliamentary candidacy for Nandom.
