The Vice Chacellor of the University of Ghana Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo says the University and police are working assidously to apprehend  students involved in the recent clashes on campus.

Her comment comes just days after a similar incident occured on the KNUST campus leading to the arrest of 3 suspects  in the Ashanti Region.

The police in the region as part of their investigations have also secured a bench warrant from the court to arrest 62 other persons identified in video footages retrieved from the riots scene.

Speaking to TV3, Prof Amfo said the university is currently undertaking all internal measures with the police and has assured anybody found culpable would not be shielded.

“We are still working together with the police. When you come to campus you see the police’s presence. Even this morning I’ve engaged with the District Police Commander so we are working towards bringing finality to these occurences of violence on our campus.

“And we are sure that anyone who is identified as a perpetrator would appropriately be dealt with. At the appropriate time we’ll detail those which the public need to know. We are still internally taking the adequate measures that we need to do as management,” she assured.
