The Vice President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang on Monday August 18, 2025 held a meeting with the hierarchy of the Ghana Prisons Service.
Led by the Director General, Patience Baffoe-Bonnie, the discussion bordered around the challenges facing the Service and how it could be addressed.

The Vice President spoke about the need for strong public education and encouraged collaboration with other state agencies and the media.

She commended the Service for its interventions, particularly its promising campaign in agriculture.

Professor Naana Jane assured the leadership of Government’s commitment to improving conditions within the Prisons Service.
“As a responsible nation, it is our duty to ensure dignified conditions for inmates, to offer meaningful reforms, and to provide the necessary support for their reintegration into society.’’
