Vetting of President Mahama’s Supreme Court nominees will commence from Monday June 16  to Wednesday June 18, 2025.

The nominees will be vetted by Parliament’s Appointments Committee.

The President on April 30, 2025 nominated seven Justices of the Court of Appeal to be considered for appointment as Supreme Court Justices in line with Article 144 (2) of the 1992 Constitution.

The nominees include Justice Sir Dennis Dominic Adjei, Justice Gabriel Simon Suurbaareh, Justice Senyo Dzamefe, Justice Kweku Tawiah Ackaah-Boafo, Justice Philip Bright Mensah, Justice Janapare Bartels-Kodwo, and Justice Hafisata Amaleboba.

Their appointments are expected to be approved or denied by Parliament.

The vetting process will assess the nominees’ qualifications, experience, and appreciation of the law to determine their suitability for the role.

The proceedings are expected to generate public interest as these appointments are geared towards the strengthening of the Judiciary.
