The 99-year-old man who served as Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s Special Aide has revealed how the presidential stool came about.

Osomfopa Dr. Robert Kobina Taylor has disclosed the timber used to produce the stool was gotten from Asuakor, a village in the Eastern Region near Suhum.

Gbeko, the name of the tree, was transported to Gomoa Potsin in the Central Region where the stool was carved.

When the edifice was done, Dr. Taylor said it was handed to him to send to Accra. He narrates he gave it to a carpenter called Abbey who did the symbol carvings and finishing before it was sent to the seat of presidency.

Watch Mr. Taylor speak to Captain Smart Tuesday, October 11, 2022 on Onua TV/FM’s Maakye.
