The lifeless body of a four (4) year old boy has been retrieved from an uncovered well by Rescuers from the Regional Headquarters Sub-Station at Dondoli, a suburb of Wa in the Upper West Region.

The sad story which was reported to the Service at 14:47 hours on the date of incident was quickly responded to by the Crew who got to the scene heavily crowded by persons who had come to catch a glimpse of the scene and some also willing to help get the boy out of the well.

The Crew swiftly took over the scene and primed out the water in the well using two (2) portable pumps till the lifeless body of the boy surfaced at about 15:30 hours. The body was thus brought out by the Fire Rescuers assisted by some civilians.

The Deputy Upper West Regional Commander, DO I Eugene Asa-Gyekye arrived at the scene to console and extend his heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the bereaved family.

It is unclear what exactly led to the unfortunate drowning of the boy. Investigation however continues to unravel the cause and circumstances surrounding this unfortunate accident.

The lifeless body of the boy was handed over to the Police for preservation and further investigation.
