National Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has cautioned security operatives investigating accused persons to remember they are not above the law.

He has emphasised that just as they are empowered to probe others, they are equally subject to the law.

Speaking on Onua TV’s Maakye with Captain on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, Asiedu Nketia warned that security officers who fail to perform their duties to allow accused persons go unpunished without proper investigation will face the law.

Asiedu Nketia was responding to questions about extraditing former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta to face charges leveled by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), and the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB), when he said he trust those entrusted to investigate him to do their work diligently.

“We are also watching them carefully. If you’re a lawyer and have been placed there, you’re also being monitored because if you allow an accused to go scot-free, remember you’re also under the law and can be dealt with.

“We all need to watch each other, just as I’m expected to be questioned when things go astray in the party. We don’t need to encourage selective justice,” he said in Twi.
