A VIP bus with over 60 passengers narrowly escaped a serious accident in Walewale on June 18.
The bus, with registered number GT 6001- 18 was traveling from Kumasi to Bolga.
Eyewitnesses say a motorcyclist unexpectedly crossed the road in front of the bus. To avoid a crash, the driver swerved, but this caused the bus to go off the road and into a gutter.
Fortunately, all the passengers on the bus were safe, thanks to the driver’s quick thinking. However, the motorcyclist was seriously hurt and is now in critical condition at the Walewale Municipal Hospital, where he is getting medical help.
The Walewale Municipal Police have visited the scene to investigate what happened.
Eyewitnesses have praised the driver’s smart actions, saying that if he hadn’t reacted so quickly, many people, including shopkeepers and pedestrians nearby, could have been hurt.
As the investigation continues, the community is reminded of the importance of being careful on the road and staying alert to avoid accidents.
