Volta Regional Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mathias Alagbo Kabila, has declared his intention to contest for the position of Deputy National Organizer of the party.

In a declaration statement addressed to party faithful, Mr. Kabila said his decision follows months of reflection and extensive consultations with party elders, national executives, regional and constituency leaders, organizers, branch executives and grassroots operatives across the country.

“Every electoral victory is first won long before election day. It is won through disciplined organization, vibrant party structures, committed grassroots operatives, and leaders who understand that the strength of the National Democratic Congress lies in its people,” he stated.

Mr. Kabila, who has over two decades of service in the NDC, chronicled his political journey from Branch Youth Organizer to Public Relations Officer of TEIN at the University of Ghana, Deputy Volta Regional Youth Organizer, and two terms as Volta Regional Youth Organizer. He has also served as a member of both the Regional and National Executive Committees and has been active in the party’s communication wing since 2010.

“This decision is not born out of personal ambition. It is born out of conviction, experience, and an unwavering belief that our Organizational Wing must continue to evolve to meet the demands of a modern, dynamic, and election-winning political party,” he said.

He described the Office of the Deputy National Organizer as the “operational heartbeat” of the party, which must coordinate, inspire, innovate and ensure that every organizer from the branch to the national level is equipped, motivated and empowered to deliver.

If elected, Mr. Kabila outlined five key priorities to guide his tenure:

1. Building stronger and more responsive party structures across every branch, constituency and region;
2. Strengthening the capacity of organizational wings through continuous training and leadership development;
3. Building a coordinated and responsive grassroots mobilization network to enhance rapid communication, political activation, volunteer coordination and election preparedness ahead of 2028;
4. Promoting a culture that recognizes loyalty, rewards hard work and inspires greater commitment, including a crusade to rebirth meritocracy and welfare for the grassroots; and
5. Deepening unity, discipline and collaboration across every level of the organizational machinery.

“Our task is not simply to win elections. Our task is to build an organization that remains active beyond elections, responsive to the needs of our members, connected to our communities, and prepared for every political challenge,” he added.

Mr. Kabila said he presents himself not as one with all the answers, but as a loyal servant shaped by experience and prepared for greater responsibility, pledging to lead with professionalism, innovation, discipline, inclusion and relentless grassroots engagement.

He appealed to party members for their support, prayers and partnership, with the rallying call: “Together, let us organize with purpose, mobilize with discipline and win with confidence.”
