The Volta River Authority (VRA) at Akosombo in the Eastern Region has issued a strong warning to public against land deals with wrong people in Akuse, and Akosombo.

A ‘buyers beware’ notice to the general public has been issued, cautioning against any transactions involving their lands.

The Director of Environment and Sustainable Development Department of VRA. Mr Patrick Mireku, warned that any individual who engages in land deals with chiefs do so at their own risks.

He said this to the people of Akuse, and Kpong, during a stakeholders meeting with the opinion leaders, on Emergency Preparedness Plan (EPP) 2026, on April 22 at Odumase Krobo municipality.

Mr Patrick Mireku, Director of VRA, warned those who are taking risks to purchases their lands in Akosombo, that it could lead to the total loss of investment or the future demolitions of properties.

He called on the Police Command in the Akosombo area to intensify patrols to curb the increasing rate of crime.

Engineer, Philip Tetteh Padi, the Principal Water Resources manager for Volta River Authority raised concern over criminal activities on their lands and called for security interventions.

He indicated that reported land cases in Akosombo involving VRA lands have increased, hence to need to preserve what is left for future generations.
