Five female candidates in the ongoing Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) from Wassa Agave D/A Basic School in the Wassa East district of the Western region have been injured in an accident.
All the five candidates sustained varying degrees of injury and were rushed to the Wassa Attiku Christian Hospital for urgent medical care.
The pupils were standing near the roadside buying food when a motorbike rider who was unable to regain control, crashed into them.
Three out of the five were in critical condition, one suffered severe dental injuries, while the other had severe leg injury.
The motorbike rider was also hospitalized for treatment.
The candidates were treated and discharged due to the BECE.
Police were notified and their teachers are urging prompt action in response to this unfortunate incident.
