The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has cautioned the public to be weary of scammers who go around collecting monies from people to upgrade their results for them.
The caution follows the release of the 2022 West African Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) released Thursday, December 1, 2022.
It warns candidates who do so do it at their own risk as there are security authentication to original copies of the results.
“The Council is cautioning all stakeholders, especially candidates, to be on the alert and not fall prey to the activities of scammers who promise to upgrade results for a fee.
“Candidates are to note that all WAEC results are secured and can be authenticated using the results verification system or by downloading the WAEC QR Code. Institutions are also urged to always verify results presented to them to expose incidents of forgery,” a release from the Council stated.
