KNUST Jama Group has confirmed that they were officially contracted to provide musical and crowd support for Kennedy Agyapong during the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Thank You Tour held at Bantama, in the Ashanti Region on Tuesday, April 30.
The group is known for energising political and social events with rhythmic chants and drumming.
“We were hired by Hon. Maxi, aide to Hon. Kennedy Agyapong to cheer Honourable Kennedy Agyapong and create a lively atmosphere,” the group’s spokesperson disclosed.
This revelation comes in the wake of a disturbing incident that marred the event. A student was reportedly stabbed during a clash that erupted amid the tour’s proceedings.
Eyewitnesses say tensions flared over some monies given to them by the said Maxi to share, leading to chaos and the eventual assault.
The injured student is currently receiving treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
Following this incident, Ken Agyapong has withdrawn from the Thank You Tour.
