The Minister of Education and Member of Parliament for Tamale South, Haruna Iddrisu, has assured family of slain journalist, Ahmed Hussein-Suale, that the Government is committed to seeking justice for their late relative.

He made the assurance during his visit to the family of the late investigative journalist on Saturday, June 19, 2026, at Wulensi in the Nanumba South district of the Northern region.

The visit formed part of a trip to the area during which the Minister first joined the NDC Constituency Chairman in Bimbilla to mourn the passing of his father.

During interactions with the family of the former Tiger Eye PI team member, Mr. Iddrisu assured them that the Government would ensure those responsible for his killing are brought to book.

Addressing Ahmed Suale’s mother, Madam Yakubu Arahamatu, the Minister stated that government would not relent in its efforts to unravel the circumstances surrounding the killing.

“God’s justice is worth the wait, and Government’s pursuit of justice in this matter is worth pursuing. We will continue to pursue it, we will unravel it, and we pray that God will support us to do so,” he stated.

He continued that “there are some who think they can run away from justice, but though the wheels of justice may turn tortuously they will ultimately reach their destination and serve the ends of justice.”

The Minister, in his attempt to support the family assured Mr. Hussein-Suale’s sister of an opportunity to be considered under the Ghana Education Service teacher recruitment process, to enable her to continuously support the family.

Ahmed Hussein Suale, an investigative journalist with Tiger Eye Private Investigations, was murdered on January 16, 2019, near his home in Madina, Accra. His killing sent shockwaves across Ghana and raised concerns about journalist safety.

Suale was working on a BBC investigation exposing corruption in African football when he was shot dead by unidentified assailants on a motorbike. A suspect, Daniel Owusu Koranteng, was arrested in March 2025 and charged with abetment and murder.

However, the case was discontinued in October 2025 due to insufficient evidence. But Government is certain the perpetrators would be found and brought to book.
