Nicholas Kwesi Teye, the face behind the infamous ‘Remember Me’ billboard, who is a teacher has disclosed his pupils used to threaten him when his billboard issue became topical.

According to him, it was rumoured on his campus that he had taken money from the government and is being chased by the state.

For the erroneous impression, his pupils according to him felt he was hiding from the security when he tried hiding himself due to the threats he was receiving from people.

He tells Captain Smart on Maakye Thursday, November 10, 2022 on Onua TV/FM that some of his pupils could meet him on campus and tell him, “Sir, we will expose you.”

He explains those who threatened him on the streets feel the current hardship they are going through is his fault.

The President, Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, had tweeted a picture of himself and Nicholas as a NABCO beneficiary prior to the 2020 elections, asking Ghanaians to remember him since his livelihood depended on their votes.

Meanwhile, he says the other lady who is also on the billboard was sorted by the NPP after TV3’s first interview with Nicholas revealing what ensued in their contract.

He explains the NPP have avowed to sort all the other persons they used and leave him (Nicholas) to suffer for coming out to expose them.

Nicholas says he was given a paltry ₵300 to take a picture to be used to prepare calendar for the NABCO beneficiaries after he had been promised a job to that effect. He had been at home without posting after completing teacher training college.

The amount published by the said advertising company which belongs to an NPP crony however, is GH₵17,000.00 per individual.

However, after the picture was taken, he received calls from family and friends who had seen a tweet from the president with his picture, including other billboards mounted across the country for campaigning.

He says he had refused to sign after documents codifying how he had agreed to allow his image to be used to campaign on billboards, TV, radio and social media was placed before him, akin to the earlier explanation he was given.
