Interim Asante Kotoko coach Abdul-Karim Zito says matches between his side and archrivals Accra Hearts of Oak are not determined by form or position in the league.
He said matches between Ghana’s two most decorated clubs are always difficult.
The Asante Kotoko Technical Director, however, disclosed that he is approaching the game on Sunday with a mentality to win.
“I know the game will be difficult but Hearts of Oak and Kotoko till after the 90th minute you can’t predict,” he said, alluding to the first leg in which a defensive blunder by Hearts of Oak’s Kelvin Osei Assibey led to the goal.
“But we are going in with a mentality of winning. For that one I can’t hide it. I will tell you the truth. The field will decide.”
The Phobians lost the first leg in the dying embers of the game.
They are currently sixth on the Ghana Premier League (GPL) with 45 points.
The Porcupine Warriors, who parted ways with the coach just a match ago, are fourth on 50 points with former player and coach Zito now in charge.
Zito says his experience of playing and coaching in a Super Clash will come handy in the clash at the Accra Sports Stadium.
“I’m lucky to be an ex-player that has played against them with the same club Kotoko and then I have coached against them with Kotoko and it’s not easy.
“Even if you don’t do well in the league and you are able to beat Hearts of Oak, the supporters somehow will side with you a little.”
