The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Teachers Forum has officially been launched in the Western North region, with its leadership outlining plans to mobilise, unite, and strengthen teachers affiliated with the party across various educational levels.

The group, which began operations in 2025, says its primary objective is to organise party members within the teaching profession and deepen their participation in party activities and electoral processes.

Speaking at the launch, President of the Forum, Abubakar Jombo, said the initiative seeks to bring together teachers from classrooms across the country who identify with the NDC.

“Our aim is to mobilise our people from the classrooms. Whether you are teaching at the basic level or any level of education, if you belong to the National Democratic Congress, we want to bring our members together, unify them, sustain the party and help protect the ballot,” he stated.

According to him, teachers play a critical role in society and must be actively involved in the party’s grassroots mobilisation efforts.

He noted that the forum is focused not only on unifying members but also on ensuring the party maintains a strong and organised support base among teachers.

Mr. Jombo further stressed the need for fairness and vigilance in the electoral process, indicating that protecting the ballot remains a key focus of the group.

“Teachers need fair play, and for that matter we must remain committed to protecting the ballot boxes. Our goal is mobilisation for the party and ensuring our members remain united,” he added.

The NDC Teachers Forum says it hopes to strengthen solidarity among party-affiliated teachers while contributing to the party’s organisation and electoral preparedness in the region.
