In an exclusive interview with the Association, on Monday, March 3, Schäfer said the players have to approach the games with a winning mentality.
“We have to go to the the next two matches with confidence,” the former footballer said.
For him, that mentality is not only important for the players but everybody connected to the team, including the Minister of Sports and Recreation.
“The players have to know when they come here and they go back, he is ready for his club. He is highly motivated, he is fit.
‘Normally he thinks in his home, I have to go to Ghana, the feeling is not good, the pitch is not good, the massage is not good. No, for us, that is what we have to do.
“We have to bring the players, they have to be happy when they come here and go back. So next time they win the next two matches. With that we can make a big big step for the United States, Canada and Mexico.”
