A taxi driver believed to be in his late 20s has been killed with a rope at Komfo Addai, a suburb of Winneba in the Effutu Municipality of the Central Region.

The unknown assailants bolted with his taxi.

Information gathered by OnuaOnline indicates his assailants boarded his cab from an unknown location to Winneba Secondary School and upon reaching a section of the road, the suspects tied the victim’s neck with rope till he died.

An eyewitness, Kwesi Annan, tells Nana Yaw Asare the culprits rubbed the victim’s face with a hot ointment before tying him with the rope.

“We don’t know where they took him from but we know he works from Swedru so they might have picked him from there. They use ‘aboniki’ balm on his face and tied him with a rope. And they took his taxi away,” he narrated.
